Cherokee Journey ----- follow the trail

Getting to know a little bit about me

Hi...Since you took the time to visit, I thought you might like to know a little bit about me. I'm a mother and grandmother, and I live in the country on a small farm. I have been here since 1974 and raised 3 sons. I have always loved the outdoors so the wide open spaces suits me.

I have a Cherokee heritage so I have been on a quest to learn about the people, culture, history and my ancestry. It has been quite an exciting journey for me and I have learned more than I had hoped...Since I was a young woman I have enjoyed writing poetry when inspired. Through the years I ended up with a collection of what I like to call "Poetry for all Seasons" since they are from life's experiences...You will find all of this in my "Cherokee Journey" and if you would like to visit, please click on the picture above.

Thanks for coming by.
You are welcome to visit anytime.

All the Best...SnowBird

A Time Remembered

by SnowBird

Remembering those days of younger times
Where Birds are singing among the pines.

The winds are gentle in the sway
Of moving Wild Flowers on a summers day.

The clean smells are deeply drawn in
And released with a satisfying grin.

Squirrels are playing among the ferns
Chasing each other while taking turns.

On the edge of the meadow green
Continues the minds-eye in my dream.

A Buck is grazing on tender grasses.
The quiet calm of the moment passes.

A Hawk is heard calling, flying high
In the clear blue of a cloudless sky.

The Fox stops with head turned up.
Around her runs her playful pup.

Terrapin swims in the slow moving stream.
Coyote looks from the woods at the scene.

Catching a movement behind a tree,
Ghost-like white, do my eyes deceive?

A wolf looks intent towards my perch.
His eyes meet mine in our search.

Caught deep within the White Wolf's stare
Creates an understanding between us there.

You must go your way and I'll go mine.
Peace be with you till the next time.

At peace I was in the great outdoors
Away from confining walls and floors,

Sitting quietly with nature round me
Letting my spirit be light and free.

Ripples of a
Thrown Stone

by SnowBird

I threw a stone into a quiet pond.
The ripple goes out in a circle round.

Suddenly a thought of insight and revelation
How a word like the stone makes a creation.

Something said which seems small no doubt
Begins to grow and the circle reaches out.

It encompasses all who gets in the way.
A word of stone could hurt some day.

But an uplifting word in a compliment,
Is a far reaching ripple of encouragement.
